Sometimes things go wrong in our lives and we need to overcome a huge challenge whatever it may be – an illness or injury, a business collapse or career roadblock, bad habits or simply waking up one day to find ourselves completely off track in our lives. The feelings of powerlessness that can come with not knowing how to respond to such uncertainties about our future might render any one of us incapable of looking beyond the worst-case scenario.
I am no stranger to uncertainty. I have been living with uncertainty from the moment I received my Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) Syndrome diagnosis at the age of 19. For a time, I allowed this diagnosis to get the best of me—finding comfort in bad company and habits and in the idea that there is no point in having a dream as I would not live long enough to make it a reality anyway. I did not know what I wanted to do in life, starting jobs and quitting soon after and putting up businesses and ending the moment things got difficult.
From being broken and disempowered, I was able to transform my life. I am now living my best life, but my quest for knowing how far I can go is far from over. Part of my mission is to inspire millions with my story and show them that even in their lowest of lows, they can dare to hope that the best is yet to come. I want to impart proven learnings and strategies that have helped me overcome unimaginable adversities, develop an unstoppable attitude, and build a life I love. Hence, the creation of my book Just Keep Going: a dream, a terminal illness, an extraordinary life.
